The latest Schiaparelli show, directed by Daniel Roseberry, blends retro and futuristic elements, drawing inspiration from classic sci-fi and haute couture history. The collection was endorsed by Gen Z icons Hunter Schafer and Zendaya, stars from ”Euphoria,“ were all over the internet wearing a black velvet draped dress and a dress with knotted silk spikes.

The inspiration of the show was highlighted by sci-fi and alien series influences, featuring exoskeleton dresses, 3D spines, and a robot baby alongside historic haute couture elements inspired by Cristóbal Balenciaga (the capes, the volumes) and Yves Saint Laurent (the black cropped tribute jacket with white sequined lapels). The show was a reflection of the value of human creativity between past and future, by mixing old-fashioned haute couture with futuristic elements.
